Les Miserables: Shoujo Cosette S01

Based on the classic novel Les Miserables, being a single mother in early 19th century France was really tough. When Cosette was young, she would travel with her mother to find a job and a place to live, but they would always be rejected because there were very few places that accepted single mothers. When she was promised a better life in a big city, Cosette was separated from her mother, hoping that she could be a good mother when her mother tried to earn money, and she would take care of her. Unfortunately, it was all a trick, and her guardian was a corrupt man who turned her into a permanent servant.
